Vehicle History Report - You'll definitely know your history when you purchase a Ford,  or Mercury Quality Checked Certified Pre-Owned vehicle - and there's no need for studying. A vehicle history report is provided as part of the vehicle delivery process. The report is run on every Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury CPO vehicle as part of the 169-point inspection process and includes such invaluable information as known repair history, recall data, odometer tampering and accident history.

Warranty - Once you've purchased a car, truck, crossover, or SUV through the Quality Checked Certified Pre-Owned program, you're driving a great vehicle that's backed by Ford Motor Company. Every Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury CPO vehicle comes with 6-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty coverage, as well as a 3-month/3,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty on CPO Ford and Mercury vehicles, or a 6-year/100,000 mile comprehensive limited warranty on CPO Lincoln vehicles, which includes:

• 24-hour roadside assistance enrollment during the full 6-year/100,000-mile powertain limited warranty coverage period.
• Travel expense reimbursement of up to $500 for up to three days of lodging, meals and rental vehicle.
• Destination expense assistance of up to $75 to cover the emergency cost of a taxi, shuttle or rental car to get you to your destination.
• Rental car reimbursement of up to $28 per day for up to five days if the vehicle requires overnight mechanical repairs.
• Designated customer assistance center toll-free number.
• A warranty ID card to be mailed to you following vehicle delivery.  

169-Point Inspection - If a pre-owned vehicle is less than six years old and has less than 80,000 actual miles on the odometer, then it’s eligible to undergo our demanding 169-point quality check inspection process. Anything found to be below standards or deficient is repaired or replaced using only genuine Motorcraft replacement parts. Only vehicles that pass this rigorous inspection become Quality Checked Certified Pre-Owned vehicles.

What makes a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle better than a regular used vehicle?

A Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury CPO vehicle must be under six years old and can't have more than 80,000 actual miles on the odometer. Also, every Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury Quality Checked Certified Pre-Owned vehicle goes through a rigorous 169-point inspection covering the powertrain, chassis, accessories and the overall condition of the vehicle. Each vehicle also comes with 6-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty coverage, 3-month/3,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty (6-year/100,000 mile comprehensive limited warranty for Lincolns), roadside assistance, a full tank of gas at delivery and much, much more.

Why aren't all eligible vehicles certified?

Although a vehicle may be eligible in terms of vehicle make, mileage or model year requirements, not all vehicles may pass the vehicle inspection process. Only the very best pre-owned vehicles that pass the inspection process may be Quality Checked Certified Pre-Owned.

Can I purchase a vehicle and have it certified?

No. Unlike other programs that only offer extended service plans, the Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury CPO warranty coverage is placed by and backed by the manufacturer. It is placed on the vehicle after the dealership has performed the inspection and before offering the vehicle for sale. Therefore, the Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury CPO warranty coverage cannot be purchased at the time of vehicle sale.

Who was the previous owner of this vehicle?

Certified Pre-Owned vehicles come from a wide variety of sources. The vehicle could have been obtained by the dealership via a retail trade, from an off-lease customer or purchased at auction. No matter how the vehicle was acquired, the vehicle must pass the vehicle inspection process in order to be eligible for this program.

Can I get a copy of the vehicle inspection checklist for my certified vehicle?

Yes, as part of the vehicle delivery process, your dealership will provide you with the specific vehicle inspection checklist for your vehicle.

Can I get a Vehicle History Report?

Every Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury CPO vehicle has a history report run as part of the 169-point inspection. It will be provided as part of the vehicle delivery process and includes information like known repair history, recall data, odometer tampering and accident history.

Does the warranty stay with the vehicle?

Yes, the Certified Pre-owned warranty is automatically transferred. If you sell your Certified Pre-owned vehicle, the remaining Certified Pre-Owned powertrain limited warranty coverage remains in effect for the new owner and there is no transfer fee required.  This will greatly enhance resale value for you!

How long is a certified vehicle covered by the warranty?

The powertrain warranty coverage extends for 6 years or 100,000 miles from the original in-service date.  See your local Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury Quality Checked Certified Pre-Owned Dealer for a copy of the warranty.  The comprehensive limited warranty on CPO Ford and Mercury vehicles extends to 3-months or 3,000 miles from when you purchase the vehicle, (the comprehensive limited warranty on CPO Lincolns is 6 years or 100,000 miles from the original in-service date).

What does my warranty cover?

Can I purchase an Extended Service Plan?

Yes. There are extended service plans that can be purchased at the dealership at the time of the sale for an additional fee. In addition, maintenance plans of varying durations are also available.
